1. Do I need to leave a deposit when reserving?
  We will require a non refundable £250 deposit to hold an apartment on your behalf.  You will be issued with a receipt for the money received which will set out the plot number, price agreed and how long the apartment will be held on your behalf before contracts are exchanged.

2. What does the service charge cover?
 

The service charge covers:-

  • External maintenance - buildings and grounds
  • Caretaker service
  • Communal lighting
  • CCTV
  • Lifts
  • Refuse
  • Maintenance of door entry systems
  • Window cleaning
  • Decoration of communal areas every five years
  • Water rates

3. Do I own my new home?
 

All apartments are sold on a long lease granted for a term of 125 years.

4. Does my new home come with a guarantee?
  Each apartment comes with a 10 year Zurich backed guarantee

5. What type of heating is there?
  There are central boilers that serve all apartments.  The heating is individually controlled in each apartment and there is an individual meter to show how much you have used.  You are required to pay a monthly direct debit to cover the cost which is reviewed quarterly.

6. Car parking
  Each apartment has a designated car parking space in the secure underground car park. There is space available in the courtyard area for visitors parking including a disabled space and bicycle racks.

6. What are the age restrictions?
 

Mariners Court is a retirement development so one member of the household needs to be at least 55 years of age.
